Here are some great photos and results from the Vaquero Stampede. We had a fantastic first meet; our varsity athletes charged off the starting line with great fitness and outstanding results. The girls team won the large school 11-12 race and the boys finished a very strong 4th place. Overall, the girls team was 3rd best out of 39 teams, and the boys were 6th best out of 45 teams! Wow! I am thrilled to see us running so well, with SMILES ON OUR FACES! This great start puts us right on track to achieve one of our primary goals: Get both teams to the State Championships! Here we go.

Here we go! The season is now officially underway (and thankfully, this website is back to life). Many of us have been training for quite some time and are literally tempo running into fitness, while others are right out of the box, ready and eager to get this racing thing going! Saturday the UC harriers will test their strength against some of the county's best in the division 1 races at Lindo Lake Park. It should be an exciting day for us to see what our fitness level reveals. Here is some race information below:

A Look Back at 2005 (Great Athletes in the Making)

This was the year of the freshmen with Mac Fleet, Masami Okada, Adam Scherling and Guadalupe Gonzalez among many others taking starring roles for the varsity squad. Injury would cut Mac's season a little short, but the boys would lay a foundation that eventually grew to superstardom and a #1 county ranking by the time they were seniors.

The varsity boys roar through the mile mark in their dominating win against Scripps Ranch. Freshman Mac Fleet won the race in 16:37

Freshman Guad is only the sixth best frosh on the emerging team. Senior Guad is 3rd best in San Diego County and tenth at state. Freshman Macky wins the varsity meet at Morley Field against Scripps in 16:37. Senior Mac is County Champion, State Champion, and eventual National Champion in track.

Watch closely this exercise: I demonstrated with the wrong leg. Raised arm is on the same side as the lifted knee.

And this exercise does not extend all the way to the ground.

This Video is Too Cool to Ignore!
Somehow I'm going to keep this video as a permanent inspiration for hard work, determination, and just down right coolness. Watch this over and over again like I do.
